The
Airforce Reserve Parachute is designed and manufactured by Parachutes Australia and now dominates
the Australian Reserve market. The Airforce reserve has been tested to the requirements of USA,
Federal Aviation Administration, Technical Standard Order TSO C23(b) DESIGN The Airforce Reserve is a 7 cell, rectangular ram air parachute. It is constructed of F111 fabric and uses spectra suspension lines. It is one of the few Reserve parachutes in the world today that continues to use Kevlar reinforcement tape throughout it's construction. Although the cost of Kevlar is greater than that of other tapes in the industry. The use of Military Specification Kevlar re-inforcement tape means that the breaking strain can be 2-5 times higher than that of the nylon tapes used in other reserve parachutes. Parachutes Australia believes that it's customers deserve the lower pack volumes and resistance to heat damage afforded by the use of this material. The Airforce Reserve is virtually the only reserve parachute in the world that is cut out using advanced Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology. This system electronically marks out all the construction references on the fabric and then outlines each piece with a heated knife so that every edge of your Airforce reserve is heat sealed to prevent possible fraying. This system also eliminates the margin for human error, and increases the accuracy of construction for every canopy.
